'La forma dell'acqua' di Guillermo del Toro vince il Producers' Guild Award

La forma dell'acqua di Guillermo del Toro ha vinto questa notte il prestigioso Producers' Guild Award, il premio maggiore del sindacato produttori cinematografici e televisivi di Hollywood, una tra le guilds più influenti e predittive delle cose a venire in chiave Oscar degli ultimi decenni.
Unico sindacato dell'industria hollywoodiana ad utilizzare il sistema di voto preferenziale assieme all'Academy, il Producers Guild ha favorito il fantasy adulto scritto e diretto da Guillermo del Toro come produzione dell'anno battendo titoli altrettanto forti sotto l'egida del preferential vote come Scappa - Get Out, Lady Bird, Dunkirk e il plurivincitore dei Golden Globes Tre manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri.
Il film di Martin McDonagh risulta però ancora in gioco vista la sua posizione di favorito "pesante" agli Screen Actors Guild Awards in programma questa notte a Los Angeles, producendo possibilmente un ping pong di riconoscimenti tra questo e il film di del Toro che potrebbe estendersi fino ai Bafta di metà Febbraio.

Sul versante dell'animazione il trionfo è tutto prevedibilmente di Coco, mentre nelle categorie televisive dominano The Handmaid's Tale, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel e Black Mirror.
