Visual Effects Society: 'The War - Il pianeta delle scimmie' e 'Coco' trionfano al sindacato effetti speciali di Hollywood

Alla Visual Effects Society dominano per la terza volta le scimmie; è stato difatti The War - Il pianeta delle scimmie a trionfare con ben quattro riconoscimenti presso i premi del sindacato effetti visivi e speciali di Hollywood.
Confermando la linea di gradimento dei precedenti due capitoli della saga scimmiesca (anch'essi premiati dai VES nel 2011 e nel 2014), il film diretto di Matt Reeves si candida quindi a divenire il frontrunner della sua categoria agli Oscar, anche se i Bafta potrebbero cambiare il vento e premiare il candidatissimo Blade Runner 2049. Da sottolineare come i precedenti capitoli della serie prequel abbiano vinto il VES Awards senza poi però corrispondere con la statuetta agli effetti visivi agli Oscar, battuti rispettivamente nel 2011 da Hugo Cabret e nel 2014 da Interstellar.

Nel campo dell'animazione trionfa Coco, nelle sezioni televisive dominio previsto per Il trono di spade e Black Sails.
