Il sequel firmato Walt Disney Pictures è il titolo più atteso di fine, e aspettando l'arrivo nelle sale italiane fissato per il 20 dicembre, Il ritorno di Mary Poppins è stato già presentato a molta della stampa nordamericana; le prime proiezioni dedicate ai sindacati di attori, registi e produttori sono state frequentate anche da molte delle maggiori testate americane.
Il sequel diretto dal regista candidato all'Oscar Rob Marshall si appresta a diventare forse uno dei titoli a sorpresa di fine anno, capace probabilmente di regalare la tanto attesa prima candidatura all'Oscar alla protagonista Emily Blunt; inutile aggiungere che i comparti di scenografie, costumi, effetti visivi, colonna sonora e canzoni originali sarà dominata dal lungometraggio firmato Disney.
Sarà nomination alla statuetta per la Blunt come accadde nel 1965 per Julie Andrews?
