Nonostante i risultati dell'edizione annuale del festival cinematografico italiano Capri, Hollywood non siano influenti per la corsa all'Oscar, si ha il sapore del bilancio annuale leggendo la lista dei titoli e delle performance premiate alla kermesse nostrana di quest'anno.
A vincere l'edizione 2019 come miglior film è Vice - L'uomo nell'ombra di Adam McKay, che si porta a casa anche i riconoscimenti come attrice non protagonista a Amy Adams, montaggio e trucco; ottimi risultati anche per Roma con i premi alla regia, film straniero e scenografia, ma non mancano le sorprese tra le categorie attoriali: premiati difetti, nelle rispettive categorie, l'italiano Marcello Fonte per Dogman e gli straordinari Glenn Close e Jonathan Pryce, protagonisti di The Wife - Vivere nell'ombra.
