Si è svolta questa notte la cinquantacinquesima edizione dei Cinema Audio Society Awards, il premio del sindacato degli operatori del suono cinematografico che ogni anno premia l'intero comparto audio delle maggiori produzioni hollywoodiane.
A vincere il premio più importante, quello dedicato ai film live action di finzione, è stato Bohemian Rhapsody che da adesso si candida come front runner per le due categorie tecniche dedicate al sonoro dei prossimi Oscar. A convincere i giurati dei CAS e degli Oscar probabilmente basta la sola scena del live aid, dove l'audio originale della performance dei Queen è stato integrato con la voce di Rami Malek e quella di un cantante professionista, ai rumori di fondo originali e a nuove sonorità pensate appositamente per il film. Nella categoria dedicata ai film animati trionfa L'isola dei cani, mentre tra i documentari vince il sempre più affermato Free Solo.
Nelle categorie televisive, invece, spazio per La fantastica signora Maisel, American Crime Story - L'assassinio di Gianni Versace e Mozart in the Jungle.
