Ai premi della Broadcast Film Critics Association dedicati all'arte del documentario del piccolo e del grande schermo, ha trionfato Apollo 11 con ben 5 riconoscimenti. Ai 4° Critics'Choice Documentary Awards c'è stato spazio anche per premi assegnati a Peter Jackson e Bruce Springsteen.
Il regista neozelandese premio Oscar ha ottenuto il premio alla regia per l'innovativo They Shall Not Grow Old, ,mentre il cantautore americano vincitore della statuetta si è accaparrato il premio per la miglior narrazione del documentario da lui diretto Western Stars.
