'Parasite' è il miglior film per i critici di Detroit e per Southeastern Film Critics Association

Parasite è, insieme a The Irishman, il film più apprezzato dalla critica di questa stagione. A conferma di questo arrivano altri due riconoscimenti locali, ovvero quelli della Detroit Film Critics Society e della Southeastern Film Critics Association.

A Detroit il film più premiato è Storia di un matrimonio, con ben quattro riconoscimenti compreso il premio alla sceneggiatura e tre dei quattro premi attoriali, andati ad Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson e Laura Dern. Il premio alla miglior rivelazione va a Florence Pugh, per i suoi ruoli in Midsommar, Piccole Donne e Una famiglia al tappeto. Tre Premi a Parasite, invece, al Southesatern, così come anche a The Irishman, da notare il premio alla miglior attrice andato ad una ritrovata Renée Zellweger, finora numericamente schiacciata da Lupita Nyong'o.
