Il circolo della critica del North Carolina ha assegnato i suoi premi annuali, che hanno decretato come miglior film dell'anno l'acclamato Minari di Lee Isaac-Chung e distribuito in Usa da A24; quattro sono invece i premi assegnati a Nomadland, che si porta a casa la regia, attrice per Frances McDormand, la sceneggiatura non originale e la fotografia.
Oltre alla McDormand, premi attoriali a Delroy Lindo per Da 5 Bloods, Sacha Baron Cohen per Il processo ai Chicago 7 e l'interprete coreana Youn Yuh-Jung per Minari. Miglior colonna sonora e film d'animazione a Soul.
