Simmons e Nina Arianda:
Being a the Ricardos is a bit better than the buzz. It’s at times funny and smart but also gets bogged down in the backstory. Reminded me of Steve Jobs in how insular it is. Kidman and Bardem are great tho.

#BeingTheRicardos is full of wit and charm. Nicole Kidman owns the spirit and vigor of Lucielle Ball. Nina Arianda and J.K. Simmons are standout sensations. Really taken by the Daniel Pemberton score. Aaron Sorkin-isms throughout but they mostly work. Worth the wait. #Oscars pic.twitter.com/6FPiLnhfZY

Wow! #BeingTheRicardos is unexpectedly delightful and fantastic. A stellar script from Aaron Sorkin and such incredible performances from Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem. Bardem is JK Simmons is simply a treasure!!! It’s an awards player.

Old time Hollywood will love #BeingTheRicardos, behind-the-scenes showbiz stuff that works so well with this town's crowd, Nicole Kidman announces her arrival in #Oscars Best Actress race, will be a legit player, far more entertaining film than TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7, no contest pic.twitter.com/orLPzQ10fD

Sorkin’s truly in a league of his own. BEING THE RICARDOS may be a little too inside baseball for some, but I ate it up — the speedy dialogue, the quick wit and yes, the walk and talks. And the whole cast was great. Shame on me for doubting Kidman could nail Lucy. Big standing O. pic.twitter.com/KvehRn6WL0

Lucy, you’ve got some campaigning to do: BEING THE RICARDOS played well in its first screening, suggesting a solid awards contender. I bought Nicole more as offscreen, dramatic Lucy than as a sitcom dynamo, but the audience still ate her and Javier Bardem up.

Nicole Kidman enters the Best Actress race with a fully realized performance that captures the spirit of Lucille Ball. Bardem like you’ve never seen him. The script is very, very Sorkin but that’s a good thing. #BeingTheRicardos

Being the Ricardos suffers from being overstuffed. Nicole Kidman does many good things, but never quite hits the Lucy note we need.

On the other hand, Bardem could well be nominated for a big warm performance. And JK Simmons and Nina Arianda could also be nomination contenders.
Aaron Sorkin’s “Being The Ricardos” is significantly better than expected. I was expecting “slick & good enough”; in fact it’s smooth, grade-A, crisply written & very impressively acted (especially by Nicole Kidman, who captures Lucille Ball’s voice, Javier Bardem & JK Simmons).

#BeingTheRicardos just left me in a puddle of tears. What a beautiful and deeply moving behind the scenes look at the pressures and complexities involved in making that show - highs, lows and everything in between. Nicole Kidman is INCREDIBLE. pic.twitter.com/7toaVjGOIM

Nicole Kidman has the “Lucy” sitcom voice down brilliantly in #BeingTheRicardos. The film is funny & there are sharp moments, but not wholly compelling. Conflicts as the real Lucy…meh. Nina Arianda, J.K. Simmons & Alia Shawkat are perfection. pic.twitter.com/lg5sR6HvwL

BEING THE RICARDOS is fine. I still don’t love Aaron Sorkin as a director OR screenwriter. Hope this is snubbed for screenplay like Steve Jobs was. NICOLE KIDMAN, she deserves an Oscar nom, but so do most of her performances. I won’t rank this among her best, but QUEEN.

If you want impersonations, #BeingtheRicardos might not be for you. If you want performances that capture the spirit and soul of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, you’re in for a treat. Aaron Sorkin at his Sorkienest - great quips, motivating speeches, and a stellar ensemble. pic.twitter.com/Jwhx8sOo27
