Sono veramente tantissimi i film che arriveranno al tradizionale TIFF anche quest'anno, e come ogni annata, parte il gioco ad esclusione: quali di questi sbarcherà prima a Venezia o al Telluride Film Festival? Assenti totalmente dalla lineup di Toronto film come Maestro di Bradley Cooper, Priscilla di Sofia Coppola, Povere creature di Yorgos Lanthimos (ma la pellicola con Emma Stone esce nelle sale Usa l'8 settembre, un giorno prima dell'inizio del TIFF), Ferrari di Michael Mann e Saltburn di Emerald Fennell.
Arriveranno a Venezia/Telluride oppure, causa sciopero dei sindacati di sceneggiatori e attori, verranno temporaneamente "congelati" dal circuito festivaliero in attesa della fine delle manifestazioni sindacali ad Hollywood?
Il Toronto International Film Festival si svolgerà dal 7 al 17 settembre 2023, mentre l'80° Mostra d'Arte Cinematografica di Venezia annuncerà la sua attesa lineup martedì 25 luglio.
