Independent Spirit Awards, ‘The Farewell’ è il miglior film, Adam Sandler miglior attore per ‘Diamanti grezzi’

Agli Independent Spirit Awards 2020, i premi maggior del cinena low-budget di produzione statunitense, vengono premiati molti dei film che agli Academy Awards non hanno avuto spazio con le candidature. A sorpresa, miglior film è andato a The Farewell – Una bugia buona, scritto e diretto da Lulu Wang.

Il film della Wang si è anche aggiudicato il premio alla miglior attrice non protagonista per Zhao Shuzhen, mentre la controparte maschile di supporto è stata incoronata Willem Dafoe nell’incubo in bianco e nero The Lighthouse, vincitore anche per la fotografia.

Migliori attori protagonisti rispettivamente Adam Sandler per Diamanti grezzi e Renée Zellweger per Judy, miglior sceneggiatura a Noah Baumbach per Storia di un matrimonio, che si era già portato a casa il Robert Altman Award al cast intero. Miglior regia a Josh e Benny Safdie per il film con Sandler:
