Quest’anno, nella categoria cinematografica la spunta Sarah Polley e la scrittrice Miriam Toews per Women Talking, mentre nel comparto televisivo ce la fa la serie Apple Original Slow Horses, dal romanzo omonimo di Mick Herron.
Dopo aver vinto il Critics’ Choice Award di categoria, Women Talking potrebbe ottenere l’Oscar per la miglior sceneggiatura non originale, anche se il suo avversario più temibile è al momento Niente di nuovo sul fronte occidentale, tratto dal romanzo omonimo di Eric Maria Remarque e già vincitore del Bafta, per l’appunto.
