Per l’associazione AARP Movies for Grownups, che si riferisce ad una membership di spettatori dai 50 anni in su, molte sorprese nelle categorie riferite all’anno 2020 davanti il grande (e piccolo) schermo. Il miglior film è, un po’ a sorpresa, The United States vs. Billie Holiday di Lee Daniels, mentre i due attori dell’anno sono rispettivamente Anthony Hopkins per The Father e Sofia Loren per La vita davanti a sé.
Due riconoscimenti importanti anche per Aaron Sorkin e il suo Il processo ai Chicago 7: miglior regia e sceneggiatura; attori non protagonisti, ancora una volta Jodie Foster per The Mauritanian e, inaspettatamente, Demian Bichir per Land, esordio alla regia cinematografica per Robin Wright.
