Il sindacato dei supervisori musicali è tra le ultime guild hollywoodiane a svelare le proprie candidature, pochi giorni prima dell’annuncio delle nomination ai 91° Academy Awards, previsti per martedì 22 gennaio. La Guild of Music Supervisors premia nelle sue menzioni titoli come A Star Is Born, Black Panther e Il ritorno di Mary Poppins.
Interessante la categoria della miglior canzone originale, dove figurano l’ormai onnipresente “Shallow” dal film di e con Bradley Cooper e Lady Gaga, “All The Stars” di Kendrick Lamar per il cinecomic Marvel, “Trip A Little Light Fantastic” dal sequel di Mary Poppins di Rob Marshall, “Girl In The Movies” di Dolòy Parton per film film Netflix Dumplin con Jennifer Aniston e, un po a sorpresa, “Sunflower” di Post Malone dal film d’animazione Spider-Man: Un nuovo universo, unica composizione musicale originale non presente nella shortlist delle canzoni scelte dall’Academy per la nomination.
