Per quanto i riconoscimenti della Visual Effects Society non abbiano un peso specifico in termini di pronostico degli Oscar, possono tuttavia far spostare l’ago della bilancia verso un titolo meno favorito ad un titolo più favorito.
Ed è esattamente quello che è accaduto con la lunga sfilza di vincitori 2016 del Sindacato Effetti Visivi.
A trionfare con 4 riconoscimenti (incluso quello maggiore in “Oustanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Picture) è a sorpresa il campione del box office 2015 Star Wars: Il Risveglio delle Forza; segue con tre riconoscimenti minori ma non meno importanti il lavoro di computer grafica sul discusso orso di The Revenant ; al palo il favorito della vigilia Mad Max: Fury Road con soli due riconoscimenti minori.
In attesa del responso dei Bafta di metà Febbraio per capire su quale titolo si sposterà la loro preferenza, nella categoria Oscar per adesso regna il caos più totale, senza un favorito sicuro.
