A trionfare all’edizione 2018 dei prestigiosi Tony Awards,il maggior riconoscimento del teatro statunitense, è stato Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, fortunatissima messa in scena teatrale dell’ottavo capitolo delle avventure del mago ormai cresciuto e della sua eredità.
Lo spettacolo britannico si porta a casa il premio come Best Play, mentre quello per il prestigioso Best Musical è andato a The Band’s Visit, trionfatore numerico con ben 10 statuette a fronte delle sei delle avventure del maghetto occhialuto.
Tra gli interpreti premiati, Andrew Garfield trionfa per il revival di Angels in America, mentre la due volte premio Oscar Glenda Jackson si accaparra il riconoscimento femminile per Three Tall Women, il cui premio in supporting è andato alla candidata all’ Oscar di quest’anno Laurie Metcalf.
