VES Awards 2019: 6 nomination ad ‘Avengers: Infinty War’ ai premi dedicati agli effetti speciali

Avergers: Infinity War è il film più candidato alla diciassettesima edizione dei premi della Visual Effects Society con ben 6 candidature, mentre Black Panther, l’altro grande titolo Marvel della stagione, recentemente premiato ai Critics Choice Awards, è il grande escluso di questa edizione, non avendo guadagnato neanche una nomination. La stessa sorte è toccata a Il ritorno di Mary Poppins e Bumblebee.

Candidati insieme ad Avengers nella categoria principale troviamo i prevedibili Ready Player One e Solo: A Star Wars Story, ma anche gli inattesi Benvenuti a Marwen e Ritorno al bosco del 100 acri. Un altro favorito della vigilia, First Man – il primo uomo, è stato strategicamente spostato nella categoria dedicata agli effetti speciali di supporto, dove competerà contro Bohemian Rhapsody, 12 Soldiers ed i film Netflix Bird Box e Outlaw King.
Tra i cartoni animati Gli Incredibili 2 ottiene 5 nomination, una in più di Spider-Man: un nuovo universo e Ralph Spacca Internet; mentre nelle categorie dedicate alla televisione a dominare con 6 nomination totali è la serie Netflix Lost in Space
La cerimonia di premiazione dei VES Awards si terrà il 5 febbraio al Beverly Hilton Hotel di Beverly Hills, la stessa struttura che ospita ogni anno la cerimonia dei Golden Globe. Nel corso della serata a Jonathan Nolan, creatore di Westworld, verrà conferito un riconoscimento speciale, lo stesso andato al fratello Christopher solo un paio di anni fa.
