Il maggior riconoscimento del cinema low-budget americano ha premiato con tre statuette Se la strada potesse parlare.
Il film scritto e diretto da Barry Jenkins si porta a casa i premi come miglior film, regia e attrice non protagonista a Regina King; tra gli latri interpreti premiati, rispettivamente, Ethan Hawke per First Reformed – La creazione a rischio, Glenn Close per The Wife – Vivere nell’ombra e, un po a sorpresa, Richard E. Grant per Copia originale, che porta a casa anche il riconoscimento alla migliore sceneggiatura. Miglior film indipendente non statunitense è Roma.
