La critica cineamtografica di Las Vegas ha annunciato i suoi vincitori; il trionfo è tutto di Roma, film Leone d’Oro a Venezia 75 e diretto dal premio Oscar Alfonso Cuaròn; sono ben cinque i riconoscimenti che il film messicano si porta a casa (film, regia, film straniero, fotografia, montaggio).
Ma a tallonarlo con quattro riconoscimenti c’è A Star Is Born , film di esordio dietro la macchina da presa per Bradley Cooper; il remake campione di incassi si porta a casa i riconoscimenti per la miglior attrice (Lady Gaga), attore non protagonista (Sam Elliott), canzone originale e regista esordiente. Nelle restanti categorie attoriali il trionfo è dei soliti noti Ethan Hawke e Regina King.
