Fuori dalle candidature attoriali James Franco per The Diasaster Artist, sostituito da Denzel Washington per Roman J.Israel, Esq. Record assoluti per John Williams con la sua 51esima nomination per Star Wars: Gli ultimi Jedi e Meryl Streep alla numero 21 per The Post. Presente anche l’Italia con Chiamami col tuo nome candidato a 4 statuette.
